Classes
Online Antenatal Course

The Beloved Bumps online courses are based on years of experience of delivering high quality one to one and small group classes to couples in and around London. New parents, or even previous parents, often ask for resources that they can access again and again so that points can be revisited.

This course has been designed to prepare you for labour, birth, and how to care for your baby! You can watch it at your own pace, in a time that is suitable for you, and wherever you want.

The topics covered in the course are:
  • Normal Labour and Birth
  • Signs of Labour
  • Pain relief
  • Your partner's role
  • Induction of Labour
  • Instrumental and Caesarean deliveries
  • The postnatal period
  • Feeding your baby
  • Caring for your Newborn

The course is taught in an unbiased manner, so whether you are preparing for a low risk natural birth, or an elective caesarean, you will be able to make informed choices by the time you have finished it.

If you forget parts, or you want a reminder whilst you are in hospital, just log back in and watch the appropriate section!

These online classes can be used in conjunction with physical classes so that you can also meet other couples and develop personal networks. However, the experience of most couples is often classes such as NCT deliver hit and miss advice, often couples complain that they forget key points or that they are rushed through.

The other benefit to the online course is for expats living abroad, who want to be educated by the UK system so that they know what they can expect – countries outside of the UK are often private and obstetric led, meaning that women lose their informed choice. This course will fully inform you on the processes that you can expect to occur in the UK, so that you can question your obstetrican on whether some interventions are truly necessary.

About

I founded Beloved Bumps in 2012 when I realised that women were coming to hospital without being fully informed of all their options, or being prepared for situations that may arise. Many classes were being taught by Antenatal teachers, rather than midwives who have first hand experience in working with women in labour, delivering babies, and looking after both mother and child. After gaining my BSc in Midwifery, I went on to work in top London hospitals, caring for women in both high and low risk pregnancies. I am an experienced and passionate midwife, and I love all aspects of the job!

My aim is to give women the full information about what could happen during labour, birth, and the early days at home, but in a way that empowers them with that knowledge, instead of frightening them.

A Mother of two boys, I have also experienced pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood so am able to understand women not just from a medical point of view, but also a personal one!
